Light My Fire Spork

Pictures & such have been added to the Light My Fire Spork products, including:

The Light My Fire Sporks are handy, lightweight eating tools that don’t meet the “traditional” spork definition – normally when someone says “spork” you think of the spoon / fork combo that has a tines on the spoon bowl. Not so with the Light My Fire Sporks – they are double ended with Spoon bowl and Fork Tines on opposite ends, and incorporate a knife blade onto the fork side.  Pretty clever!

We’re carrying the “combat” colors right now for individual purchase, and may expand that into the full line depending on demand.  We also have 4 packs available in traditional camping colors: blue, red, yellow and light green

Want the Ultimate Spork? Check out the Titanium version – the Light My Fire Spork in Titanium! All the same features as the traditional Light My Fire Spork, but made out of nearly indestructible, super lightweight Titanium.

New Product: Maxpedition 9846 Jumbo LEO Law Enforcement Officer Versipacks

Maxpedition 9846G Jumbo LEO Versipack - Green
Maxpedition 9846G Jumbo LEO Versipack - Green

Hot on the heels of the release of the Maxpedition Active Shooter Bag series, Maxpedition has released another variant of the Jumbo versipack based on feedback of hundreds of law enforcement officers.

The most obvious changes are external: the water bottle pocket has been removed and replaced by a general utility pouch with external PALS webbing, and the standard small pouch has been replaced with velcro lidded pouch with lateral elastic retention.  This pouch can be used to carry a radio, or can act as a dual AR-15 / M16 / M4 magazine pouch, capable of handling any standard 30 round STANAG magazine or the popular Magpul P-MAG. In addition, a grab handle has been added to the top lid pocket.

Less obvious are the other differences; the bag material has been changed to PU-coated  800d nylon for lighter weight; a pouch  capable of holding a 5″ phone has been added, the HK-style snap hook has been replaced with a closed D ring loop, and the belt attaching loop on the back has been replaced with a removable waist-strap.

No word at this time if there will be a S-Type version of the Jumbo LEO Versipack.

Available in the following colors:

New Product: Maxpedition 9845K Jumbo EDC Every Day Carry Versipack

Maxpedition Jumbo EDC Versipack - Khaki
Maxpedition Jumbo EDC Versipack - Khaki

Maxpedition has come out with a lighterweight version of their ever-popular Jumbo 0412 Versipack series, with a number of changes based on user feedback.  The first thing you’ll notice about the 9845 Jumbo EDC is the lighter weight; instead of the standard 1000D Cordura, the Jumbo EDC is made with PU-coated 800 denier nylon fabric, leading to a net 15% weight reduction.  The belt attachment loop has been removed, and replaced by a waist strap with side release buckle.  A grab handle has been added to the top-of-lid pocket as well, a much needed improvement in my book.

At this time, we do not know if if there is going to be an EDC version of the Jumbo S-Type models.

The Maxpedition 9845 Jumbo EDC Every Day Carry series is available in the following configuriations:

All three colors are available for pre-order at $60.99.

Maxpedition 9833 Active Shooter Bag - Magazine Front

Maxpedition has released 2 new products aimed at law-enforcement and casual shooters – the Active Shooters Bag series.  Designed as a “bare essentials” bag, it’s available in two style: Magazine Front (9833 models) and PALS Webbing Front (9844 Models)

Designed in collaboration with Extreme Gear Labs, Maxpedition Active Shooter Bags are perfect for any situation where you may need to carry extra ammo and essential gear and have them accessible at a moments notice. This is a must-have in your vehicle just in case. Our active shooter bags are lined internally with loop field to accommodate any of our concealed carry, ammo, or admin accessories. There is also plenty of room for first aid and tactical supplies. Includes fully adjustable quick-release shoulder and waist straps to accomodate any body shape or size.

Maxpedition 9834 Active Shooter Bag - PALS Webbing Front

There are a lot of rifle bug-out bags on the market in a variety of configurations; the nice thing about these is that it pares down what you can carry to what you need and nothing else.  A pair of spare magazines for your rifle and pistol will cover just about all situations until help arrives. The velcro lined interior means you can mount a 3501 Universal Holster inside the bag and suddenly your bail out is greatly simplified: you grab your rifle, Active Shooter Bag, and get out of dodge.

Both models feature PALS webbing points on the sides for additional small pouches (perfect for lights, multitools, gps units, cell phone, water bottle holders etc).  If you just need a small, general purpose bag for your field tools, the PALS Webbing Model allows for unlimited flexibility – you can tailor the exterior with pouches containing your most used equipment. Purchase a few various PALS Webbing Adaptor (MAX-9482) patches and you can switch out your interior loadout as conditions change.

In addition, it has three zippered accessory pockets, two sleeve pockets, and one drawstring pocket fitted for a 32oz/1L Nalgene water bottle or a radio. New Product: EOTech XPS2-0 Holographic Weaponsight

EOTech XPS2-0 Holographic Weaponsight
EOTech XPS2-0 Holographic Weaponsight

EOTech has released their next model Holographic Weaponsight – the XPS2 & XPS3.  We’ve received our first shipment of the XPS2-0 model, which has the 1 MOA Dot with a 65 MOA ring for quick target pickup.

Shortest model sight yet! This sight is smaller than the former N-cell battery sight (511/551) and runs on a single 123 battery. It also has a longer battery life than the N-cell style sights. Smaller, lighter and always fast with three reticle options. With the new single battery configuration, the XPS allows more rail space than ever, leaving more room for rear iron sights or NV mount.

When EOTech says this is small, they aren’t kidding. It’s tiny and weighs “almost nothing” for an optic – 8.8 oz.  It uses a single 123A style battery, so you’ll have commonality with your SureFire or Inova Inforce weaponlight as well.  Because of the size decrease, it’s even easier to mount the Generation 2 3x magnifier than ever before.

New Product: eGear KL2 Focus Control Plus Headlamp

eGear K2 Focus Control Plus LED Headlamp
eGear K2 Focus Control Plus LED Headlamp

Added pics and specs to eGear KL2 Focus Control Plus Headlamp

We’ve added a new headlamp to the product mix here, and after several months of testing I’m pretty impressed!

From eGear:

Revolutionary Focus Control LED Illumination feature provides hands-on control of the focal range enabling the user to blaze up the illumination target from a focused beam to a flood mode.

In the past, I’ve never been a huge fan of headlamps – often the light wasn’t bright enough, or it didn’t offer enough options, or something else bothered me.  The K2 Focus Control Plus completely changed my mind.
