Added pics and specs to eGear KL2 Focus Control Plus Headlamp
We’ve added a new headlamp to the product mix here, and after several months of testing I’m pretty impressed!

In the past, I’ve never been a huge fan of headlamps – often the light wasn’t bright enough, or it didn’t offer enough options, or something else bothered me. The K2 Focus Control Plus completely changed my mind.
Since I’ve had it, I’ve done everything from change tires, to start fires, grill burgers and walk the dog; all without any of the problems associated with hand-held flashlights.
What makes this light so appealing is the focus control – you can change it from a tight spotlight (with longer beam “throw”) to a more general purpose floodlight just by rotating the bottom mounted control lever.
Activation is easy – depress the red, top mounted button and the light will turn on. Push and hold to cycle through the modes from Primary to Secondary LEDs – if you want to switch output settings once you’ve picked a light source, a quick press will take you from High to Low to Flashlight. When the light is turned off, it “remembers” the last setting it was in. The secondary LEDs are in Red, Green and Blue and each have multiple output levels.
Bicyclists, rock climbers / spelunkers, and other athletes will like the rear mounted red LED signal bar as well – just push the button on the battery compartment and it will cycle from flashing, to constant on, or you can leave it off altogether.
The headband is very comfortable, and there are neoprene pads on the battery pack and lamp itself where it comes in contact with your head – nice if you are a klutz and bang your head into things all the time… not that I’d ever do that. Ever.
Powered by 3 AA batteries, this is a great choice for the camper or for emergency use. Trust me, once you’ve used a quality hands free light, you’ll be amazed at how much easier your night time chores become.
