Benchmade announced a new double action out-the-front Automatic knife at the 2009 BLADE show – the HK 14800 Tumult.
Early word on BladeForums.com is that this is going to be a “game changer” for the automatic scene – though the MSRP of this is $280, the expected “street price” is going to be well below that… and since Microtech is the only company with similar production quality, this is going to rock some boats.
The Benchmade 14800 Tumult is being offered in 4 variants –
- 14800 – Silver Blade, Plain Edge
- 14800S – Silver Blade, Partially Serrated Edge
- 14800BK – Black Blade, Plain Edge
- 14800SBK – Black Blade, Partially Serrated Edge

Nope, this is not a user serviceable knife, so we don’t sell replacement handles. That said, Benchmade is EXCELLENT about warranty issues. We had a customer literally (and I mean literally, not internet literally=figuratively, but literally literally) blow up his Benchmade auto while serving in Iraq. He found most of the pieces, sent them back to us, and we sent them back to Benchmade. They replaced the knife, no questions asked.
