It offers a Sandvik 13C26 stainless-steel blade for toughness, durability, and excellent edge retention. its lighter weight is, in part, due to a tough, but lightweight Akulon® handle. Akulon® is an engineering plastic that retains its outstanding mechanical properties over a wide temperature range and in diverse operating environments. For an extra-secure grip, Kershaw enhances the Speed Bump with a Santoprene® overlay. Santoprene® has the flexibility and durability of natural rubber, but with a much longer life.
