New everyday carry knife modeled after legendary sword.

CRKT® is proud to release the Raikiri™ everyday carry folding knife. Dew Hara, son of respected designer, Koji Hara, designed the knife after a sword tucked away in the dusty pages of Japanese lore—it’s said to have sliced a bolt of lightning in two. For added utility, Hara designed it around Field Strip technology.

The Raikiri™ everyday carry knife is built with a modified wharncliffe blade that features a satin finish and a low-profile flipper. Once open, the locking liner anchors it in place between two cold-forged handles. With a sharply contrasting line, the movement in the design nods at the slashing motion of the famous sword Iaido. To elevate the utility of the knife to match its aesthetic, he’s given it Field Strip technology for simple cleaning and maintenance in the field without tools.

For more specificity on the unique handle design, Hara notes, “I arranged the pattern wrapping of a Japanese sword into a futuristic type and shape of lightning.”

How Field Strip Works

Field Strip Technology lets you easily disassemble your knife for cleaning without tools. To disassemble, close the knife, push the front release lever up. Then spin the rear release wheel clockwise —once you feel the handle release, pull it up and away. Handles and blade come apart easily. To bring the knife back together, place the blade and handles into the closed position - press and hold the pivot. Once the pivot is seated correctly, rotate the release wheel counter-clockwise until snug. Push front lever down. The knife is restored to full working order.
