Mission Take Apart EOD Demining Probesets
For demining operations, especially for influence mines, the screw together TA EOD Probes have been a real SUCCESS. Two models are currently available, both in titanium alloy and include 4 titanium sections (tip, 2 extensions, handle) and a Delrin hadnle. The TA1 and TA2 are identical, except that the TA2 has knurling on the individual pieces, which makes for easier disassembly in the rain, snow, and mud. All titanium pieces screw together and can be configured in the following manner -

Plastic Handle + Titanium Handle Section + Titanium Tip Section = 18"
Plastic Handle + Titanium Handle Section + 1 Titanium Extension + Titanium Tip Section = 24"
Plastic Handle + Titanium Handle Section + 2 Titanium Extensions + Titanium Tip Section = 30"

For those operators not requiring all 5 pieces, a 3 piece model (18" overall length when assembled) of the TA1 or TA2 probe is offered as well.

All TA probes are 1/4" diameter and come standard with a probe sheath pouch that can be worn on the belt, or carried in a Load Bearing Vest pocket.

Mission has designed these titanium probes to keep the operator alive. Titanium is non-magnetic, non-corrosive, tougher than steel, and wil not break in subzero temperatures. Because of these properties, titanium is the ideal material to find sub-surface mines in the safest fashion.

The current "suicide sticks" made out of plastic, carbon fiber, fiberglass fishing rods, aluminum, wood, etc, bend or break and give the operator an unclear "feel" when locating mines.

Mission's objective in building these EOD designed probes is to give the operator the best of all possible odds. It is much harder to make a serious mistake with a proble that does not over-flex or break when you are probing for a mine.

As successful and built out of the same materials as the TA probes, these fixed length EOD probes are used in applications where it is not a requirement to disassemble the probes. The F1 probes are offered in either 18" or 26" overall length (including handle), and come standard with a ballistic nylon web sheath with belt loop. Custom lengths can be ordered as well. These probes also come with a Delrin handle that is press fit into the 3/16th" diameter titanium rod.

These slim titanium probes, designed by EOD personnel, won't break in subzero temperatures, won't corrode, and won't set off magnetically triggered influence mines!!
