Staff Notes: If this knife looks familiar, it's because it is an updated version of the (now discontinued) Heckler & Koch 14850 Epidemic. Benchmade discontinued the H&K product line in fall of 2016, and brought several models under their Black Class product line. The 4700 Precipice retains the same spear point blade shape, but the blade steel has been upgraded to S30V, and the handle has been completely redesigned to have a sleek, pocket friendly shape - one of the primary complaints about the Epidemic was that it was a brick in the pocket & extremely chunky. The Precipice fixed those complaints completely.
