DISCONTINUED Benchmade 8600BK Bedlam Auto - Black Blade

Every once in a while you come across a knife that causes a primal reaction. The Benchmade 8600 Bedlam is just such a knife.

To start with, let's look at the knife's size. "Big" doesn't seem to describe it adequately - It's huge. The Benchmade 8600 Bedlam measures a whopping 9.70" overall, with a 4.00" blade made of 154CM stainless steel. The closed length is 5.76" so obviously this isn't a knife that you will be carrying in a business suit while working on corporate spreadsheets.

The 154CM stainless steel blade has a long, sweeping cutting edge that users familiar with "Persian" style knife designs will immediately recognize. To open, first make sure that the spine mounted safety is disengaged, then simply pull & release the ambidextrous AXIS lock mechanism to the rear. The powerful coil spring will take over and the knife will open & automatically lock into position. To close, pull the AXIS lock to the rear and use your other hand to swing the blade shut.

The Benchmade 8600 Bedlam's handle is made of black G10, an epoxy impregnated, reinforced fiberglass composite material widely popular in the knife industry. The handle itself is smooth and contoured, speaking highly of advanced machining work & 3D CNC capability shown by the Benchmade design team. Subtle ridges & grooves are present, evoking a feeling of materials found in nature, perhaps wood or horn. The rear of the handle has a protruding steel pommel that can be used both as an impact device or emergency glass breaker. Ergonomic finger swells and grip grooves on the 8600 Bedlam keep this knife in position no matter how slippery your grip becomes. A black steel pocket clip (tip up) rounds out the Benchmade 8600 Bedlam, completely reversible & ambidextrous.
