Cold Steel's tomahawks are both reminiscent of early American designs. The Rifleman's Hawk offers a "peace pipe" appearance that was commonly used by Native Americans.

The shafts of Cold Steel's tomahawks are of finest quality straight grain American hickory.

These tomahawks are the strongest, most indestructible hawks available and we challenge any of our competitors to prove otherwise! They are deadly accurate as a throwing weapon yet truly useful for chores.

These hawks feature a factory honed cutting edge that is 3 1/2" wide. The distance from the edge to the shaft is a whopping 5" for serious chopping power and lethal penetration. The factory edge is sharp and very durable, and because of the high quality steel and heat treatment, they can be readily made razor sharp with little effort. Both have a flattened butt for hammering stakes, but for serious hammer work, like pounding nails, we recommend the Rifleman's Hawk, with its functional hexagonal hammer poll.

These hawks throw and stick extremely well. When used as a weapon, especially by medium build fighters, the lighter weight also offers some advantages in speed. These include recovery after a swing or swift changes in direction even in mid-stroke. But if you have a heavier build, or want something that hits like the proverbial "ton of bricks" then the Rifleman's Hawk is for you!
